Overview
In 2020 I developed an art direction and UI/UX proposal for a Disney karting game at Gameloft Barcelona. The concept was built around a simple but ambitious premise: what would a Disney karting game look like if it were designed to appeal equally to adult fans of the intellectual property and younger players? The result is a visual system that pays homage to Disney's iconic characters and brand value, while taking the aesthetic into bolder, more cinematic territory.
The Challenge
Problem to solve
The challenge was creating a UI language that stays true to Disney's brand style while introducing a more mature tone — appealing to a target audience that is not exclusively children. Every design decision had to balance the warmth and playfulness of the Disney universe with the high production standards expected of a modern mobile racing title.
Process
My approach
Starting from IP and character analysis, I built a design system around Disney's visual identity — bright palettes, expressive typography, and character-driven iconography — while pushing production quality to near-AAA standards. The process covered character selection screens, race HUD, garage and collection UI, kart customisation flows, and full marketing asset exploration.
