Overview
In 2023, I led the comprehensive visual transformation of CyberTitans, a competitive auto-battler developed by LitLab Games. My role involved a full UI/UX redesign and the creation of a new brand identity, including a custom-built typeface. The project was driven by a clear strategic goal: to elevate the game’s presence within the Web3 gaming space by merging a gritty, tactical cyberpunk aesthetic with the clean, functional standards of high-end product design. The result is a cohesive ecosystem that bridges the gap between hardcore strategy gaming and the emerging blockchain economy.
The Challenge
Problem to solve
The primary challenge was to design an interface that could manage the inherent complexity of a crypto-based game, including marketplace interactions, wallet integration, and token management, without overwhelming the player. In the auto-battler genre, information density is high; therefore, the UI language needed to be surgically precise. We had to move away from generic "cyberpunk" tropes to create a unique, premium visual identity that felt authoritative, secure, and ready for global e-sports competition.
Process
My approach
The process began with the development of a custom typeface, designed to ensure maximum legibility across all digital touchpoints and reinforce the brand's technical DNA. I re-architected the entire UI system, from the tactical in-game HUD to the complex out-of-game menus, including matchmaking, shop, and inventory management. By building a modular design system, I ensured that every element, from the custom iconography to the interactive states, remained consistent, scalable, and optimized for both desktop and mobile performance.
