Overview
Obliq Productions is a production house defined by its cinematic eye and technical precision. They needed a brand identity that felt as polished as the productions they deliver. I was tasked with building the entire visual ecosystem from the ground up: a minimalist brand identity, a comprehensive brand manual, and a corporate website designed to act as a high-fidelity gallery for their portfolio. The result is a cohesive system where the brand provides the structure and the content provides the soul.
The Challenge
Problem to solve
The main challenge was creating a brand that felt authoritative yet invisible. In production, the "house" brand should never overshadow the director’s work. We needed to solve the tension between a bold, recognizable logo and a website that had to remain neutral enough to host diverse visual styles. The digital experience required a heavy focus on performance and motion, ensuring that high-bitrate video content loaded seamlessly without compromising the clean, architectural layout of the site.
Process
My approach
The identity is rooted in the concept of the oblique line, directly reflected in the slanted 'I' of the logotype to convey a unique perspective. This geometric precision anchors the entire typographic system. While the brand manual ensures consistency across all touchpoints, the website uses framing devices as a secondary visual resource to organize content. I opted for a dark-mode aesthetic to mimic the cinematic experience, using a minimalist navigation structure that directs all user attention toward the video reels.
